On March 13, 2026, Professor Sheng Dai from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, along with Professor Hanfeng Lu and Associate Professor Quanli Ke from the School of Chemical Engineering at Zhejiang University of Technology, were invited to visit and exchange ideas with our group.
Researcher Sheng Dai received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in 1990 and currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee. His research focuses on advanced nanomaterials in the fields of ionic liquids, porous carbon materials, oxide materials, catalysis, and energy storage science. He has published over 600 SCI-indexed papers and holds 28 authorized invention patents. His papers have been cited over 28,000 times, with an h-index of 84. He has received one Battelle S&T Challenges Award, six R&D 100 Awards, and one Battelle Distinguished Inventor Award.
Professor Lu Hanfeng is a Qianjiang Distinguished Expert of Hangzhou City. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Energy Chemical Engineering at the School of Chemical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology; Deputy Director of the Industrial Catalysis Discipline; and Director of the Institute of Catalytic Reaction Engineering. He has been selected for the second tier of Zhejiang Province’s New Century 151 Talent Program. His research focuses on catalytic control of air pollution and resource recovery technologies. He has published over 200 papers in high-impact journals both domestically and internationally, holds 70 authorized invention patents, and has led or participated in more than 30 national and provincial-level projects, as well as over 70 industry-sponsored projects. He has received two First Prizes in the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, the Special Prize in Science and Technology from the China Environmental Protection Federation, the Third Prize in the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Awards, the First Chen Jiayong Paper Award from the Chinese Society of Chemical Industry, and recognition as one of the Top Ten Technological Innovations in Zhejiang’s Ecological Environment.
